OCS Receives Award from Jewish War Veterans Association

Since its founding in 2009, Our Community Salutes has received numerous awards from military and veteran-serving organizations across the country.

But for Dr. Kenneth Hartman, the founder and president of Our Community Salutes, the most recent OCS award, the 2020 Jewish War Veterans Organization of the Year Award, comes with personal significance, as his father is a Holocaust survivor who has liberated by American soldiers in 1945.

“If it was not for the Allied Forces, my father (and I) would not be here today”, stated Dr. Hartman (an Army veteran) upon accepting the award from the JWV of NJ on November 12, 2020.

Dr. Hartman humbly accepted the award on behalf of the thousands of military-bound high school seniors that OCS has honored for more than a decade, and the hundreds of OCS volunteers that have given their time and charity to support OCS’s important mission.

The Jew War Veterans of the USA is the oldest veteran serving organization in America.
