OCS of Midlands South: Our Community Salutes honors high school students going into military service

Heroism, careers, service and gratitude were focal points at a May 14 gathering at USC Aiken's Convocation Center as the local Our Community Salutes organization honored teenagers on the brink of graduation and military service.
This year's annual gala featured speaker was Army veteran Ryan Pitts, 38, who received the Medal of Honor for his involvement in repelling an attack July 13, 2008, in northeastern Afghanistan.
